There are two things which have given me great pleasure all my life: music and photography. I got my first camera at the age of 10 and my first guitar at the age of 15. Teaching myself to play my guitar was much less expensive than learning to use my camera well (it was the days of film!), so that got most of my attention until 1998. That was when I bought my first digital camera. Eliminating the cost of film and development has given me the freedom to make all the photos I desire, as well as learn how to make them better, and I have made tens of thousands of photos since.

There are two kinds of photography that I enjoy most: people and nature. I enjoy capturing folks in moments in which they are totally unaware of my camera. Spending time outside and capturing the beauty of this earth we call home and the wildlife with which we share it is both relaxing and rewarding. I also enjoy capturing how humans interact with nature and how nature responds to that impact.

One of the greatest pleasures I experience is when I see one of the photographs I have made, be it a portrait, a candid photo, or a landscape, framed and on display in someone’s home or office. I am reminded of how much I enjoyed making the photograph and it makes me very happy that someone received enough pleasure from it to want to share it.
